1 Introduction to Music Theory: stave

example 1.1: stave
When we want to write music down, we use a set of five lines, which is called a stave. On this set of lines we can use the lines themselves or the spaces between them to write notes:

When a note is written higher on the stave its tone is higher. This is shown in example 1.2 which sounds like do-re-mi-fa-sol.
